For Immediate Release - 20 August, 2009
Greenock Ocean Terminal recently had the privilege of welcoming two of the worlds most magnificent cruise ships into port on the same day, the Maasdam, operated by Holland America Line, and the Tahitian Princess, operated by Princess Cruises.

The vessels made their grand entrance into Greenock in the morning of Saturday 15th August. The Tahitian Princess was the first of the vessels to arrive, sailing into the port around 0700 hours after its voyage from Dublin. The Maasdam arrived an hour later around 0800 hours after making its way from Liverpool.
The two ships, with a combined capacity of 2,453 passengers, were given a traditional Scottish welcome by a piper dressed in traditional regalia. Visitors then made their way into the newly refurbished Cruise Terminal, where they had the opportunity to find out more information on the local area from the local Tourist Board.
The facilities available at Greenock Ocean Terminal meant that even although there were many visitors in and around the port, there was plenty of space for coaches to park in the terminal. This made it convenient for passengers to go on one of the many excursions available in this area of Scotland, with several varied tours for passengers to undertake.
These tours include the Museums and Galleries Tour, which provides an opportunity to discover the rich cultural history of Scotland, as well as the Whisky and Water tour, which gives visitors an opportunity to experience the splendours of Loch Lomond combined with a fundamental Scottish tradition, whisky.
